located in charming soquel village we are a hop, skip and a jump away from downtown santa cruz. we opened in 2016 as a family run business and continue to thrive with family at our epicenter.

HOME is driven by a community sourced vision to incorporate produce from our farmers market friends and animals cared for and hand raised by local families to create inspired meals that bring friends and families together over insatiable and unique dishes.

MEET THE TEAM

 
 

Brad - owner + Head chef

growing up in grass valley, becoming a chef was the last thing on brad’s mind. a proud vegetarian throughout his life and sampling some of the amazing vegan cuisine during occasional trips to the city, it wasn’t until a friend suggested he try a vegan culinary school that the idea of becoming a chef + restaurant entrepreneurship entered his sphere. loving what he learned, he quickly went to work at one of san francisco’s top vegan restaurants. as his career and palate evolved into fine dining omnivore restaurants, so did his curiosity. he developed a passion for wanting to create unique and impressive dining experiences that still encompassed a true home grown sustainably sourced menu, rather than selling out and sourcing vegetables and animals from massive production farms where the quality of the product (and animals life) can be questionable at best. brad trained to butcher by hand, so that he can not only offer the best cuts but also so that he can approach the animal wholistically, sustainably reducing any potential waste.

working with his power house wife linda, they grew their community connections in and around santa cruz county to develop relationships with local farmers who shared the same passion - great food starts with great ingredients, local and simple. when the door cracked open with the opportunity to build their own restaurant, brad + linda jumped. HOME was an idea they had been dreaming of for some time, and since its opening in 2016 the community has grown to regard it as the local culinary treasure it is. brad’s passion for amazing food, flare for the unusual dishes and moral stance on the importance of encompassing a truly local menu make HOME simply one of a kind.

 
 
 

LINDA - OWNER + BEV DIRECTOR + BUSINESS OPS

linda was raised in sunny san diego and eventually made her way to san francisco, where she and brad met and they fell in love. right away she could see the passion brad had for cooking and quickly learned of his dream to open a restaurant. working as a successful preschool teacher and eventually a full time mother of their two (now three) children, linda knew the concept for HOME was something special. so she pivoted to full time business owner, building HOME from the ground up alongside brad. from the beginning linda has brought her vision, many talents and undeniable charm to every corner of the HOME restaurant. her integral community connections help facilitate the local ethos of the HOME menu, while her vintner relationships and extensive wine knowledge continue to impress guests with each and every visit (don’t forget the local rotating beers!) further, she continues to run all business operations for the restaurant from payroll to human relations. linda’s joy for community, fabulous food and wine is infused in all that she creates for HOME.

 
 
 

HANNAH - GENERAL MANAGER

originally from england, hannah has lived and worked in santa cruz since 2010 with her husband and 2 children. working in restaurants since the age of 14, she has a lifetime of experience which she brings to HOME. having all been friends prior to HOME, hannah saw brad + linda’s passion and authenticity for this work and knew she wanted to be apart of the team. she joined when HOME opened and eventually took over as general manager. bringing her savvy charm and wit to the floor, she excels at facilitating experiences guests will remember and continue to come back for. she is also obsessed with brad’s food, who isnt?!

 
 
 

RYAN - EVENTS DIRECTOR

born + raised in santa cruz, ryan joined the HOME team a few years after opening, having known brad + linda through family connections. he quickly became apart of the greater HOME family as an integral part of the team on the floor. working in both front of the house and back of the house operations, ryan’s thorough knowledge of HOME and passion for brad’s insatiable food made him an easy choice for the role of event director. bringing a cool and calm charisma to each interaction, ryan helps families, friends and couples create unforgettable moments and experiences during their events at HOME.
